Sr. Master Dwenger

Sr. Master Dwenger has been a quality leader at Batesville Tool and Die for 15 years; and has been with the company for twenty one years, but his true passion lies at D & B Martial Arts.  Sr. Master Dwenger served in the Army in communications for three years, afterwards he started studying in martial arts because he had always wanted to learn.  In 1984 he started in Karate but the school shut down and in search of finding another started in Tae Kwon Do.  He also has some training in Judo as well as Hapkido.  He has competed in many tournaments, national championships, and was a AAU coach.  Sr. Master Dwenger was a instructor for over 25 years at the Batesville YMCA.  His favorite thing about instructing is making a difference in his students lives.

Master Beckman

Master John Beckman was previously a Taekwondo School Owner Harrison Ohio for over 13 years before he and Sr. Master Dwenger started D & B Martial Arts.  He is a fourth degree black belt who has trained under Sr. Master Dwenger.  He has been with the United States Postal Service for 32 years and is currently a Vehicle Maintenance Manager in Louisville, Kentucky . He started his Taekwondo journey at the age of twelve when his mom asked him if he wanted to try it.  He loves going to tournaments for sparring and board breaking.  His favorite thing about being an instructor is seeing students grow and learn.  He says that “Taekwondo is an Art I have studied for more than 24 years.  I enjoy everything about the sport and want to help students grow to know what Taekwondo is and how it can help in so many ways to improve mind and body.”

Master Bruns

Master Jim Bruns, P.E. is a 5th degree black belt in Chung Do Kwan Taekwondo.  Professionally, he is a civil engineer and has spent over 40 years in commercial/institutional construction first in the Chicago area and then in SE Indiana.  In 1981, Master Bruns began his martial arts journey, training in Hapkido.  In 1994, his young son expressed an interest in learning Taekwondo.  Together, they began classes with Sr. Master Dwenger.  As Master Bruns progressed through the ranks, he was given the opportunity to teach a weekly mixed rank class and monthly black belt and special needs classes.  He also enjoyed facilitating monthly sparring classes and competing and refereeing at local tournaments.  Master Bruns loves to share his passion for the martial arts, noting one of his favorite elements is seeing students grow spiritually, mentally, and physically.

Ms. Cassidy Teeters

Instructor

Ms. Teeters has been a student under Sr. Master Dwenger for ten years.  She has taught several classes with him in the past.  She is very excited to continue teaching and helping at our new school.  Her dedication to the school, instructors, and students is a inspiration. Cassidy is currently preparing for her second degree black belt.

Mr. Jon Kuntz

 Instructor

Mr. Kuntz directs the Special Forces Class, helping his fellow classmates through their basics and forms.  He has been a student under Sr. Master Dwenger for many years and recently earned his third degree black belt.  For more on Jon check out out special needs page.

Mr. Zach Frye

Assistant Instructor

Mr. Frye is ready to help wherever he can in class.  Currently he helps the other instructors teach classes and corrects lower belts when necessary.   Zach makes sure he is available to students to help them out on Open Floor time.  He is currently working towards his second degree black belt.
